When the Attorney General or a district attorney has reason\n\nto believe a person has engaged in, is engaging in or is about to\n\nengage in any practice declared to be unlawful by Section 753 of\n\nthis title, and he believes it to be in the public interest that an\n\ninvestigation should be made to ascertain whether a person has in\n\nfact engaged in, is engaging in or is about to engage in any such\n\npractice, he may execute in writing and cause to be served upon any\n\nsuch person who is believed to have information, documentary\n\nmaterial or physical evidence relevant to the alleged violation an\n\ninvestigative demand requiring such person to furnish, under oath or\n\notherwise, a report in writing setting forth the nonprivileged\n\nrelevant facts and circumstances of which he has knowledge, or to\n\nappear and testify, or to produce relevant nonprivileged documentary\n\nmaterial or physical evidence for examination at such reasonable\n\ntime and place as may be stated in the investigative demand,\n\nconcerning the advertisement, offering for sale, sale or\n\ndistribution of any subject of a consumer transaction or the conduct\n\nof any trade or commerce that is the subject matter of the\n\ninvestigation.\n\nB. At any time before the return date specified in an\n\ninvestigative demand, or within twenty (20) days after the demand\n\nhas been served, whichever period is shorter, a petition to extend\n\nthe return date, or to modify or to set aside the demand, stating\n\ngood cause, may be filed in the district court of the county where\n\nthe person served with the demand resides or has his principal place\n\nof business, or in the district court of Oklahoma County, Oklahoma.\n\nAt any time, an extension of the return date or a modification or\n\nsetting aside of the demand may be made by agreement of the parties.","path":["OK Code","Title 15"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os15.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"250d4073577218138960886f1a61ff9d9a53f66edd08b53ded49b7244c8d511b","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-15-15-756.1","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-15-15-758"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
