A caller may not knowingly insert false information into a\n\ncaller identification system with the intent to mislead, defraud or\n\ndeceive the recipient of a telephone call.\n\nB. The provisions of this section shall not apply to:\n\n1. Any blocking of caller identification information;\n\n2. Any law enforcement agencies of the federal government, the\n\nstate government, a county or a municipality; or\n\n3. Any intelligence or security agencies of the federal\n\ngovernment.\n\nC. Any person who knowingly inserts false information with the\n\nintent to mislead, defraud or deceive the recipient of a telephone\n\ncall into a caller identification system shall be guilty of a\n\nmisdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be imprisoned in the county\n\njail for not more than one (1) year or fined not more than Ten\n\nThousand Dollars ($10,000.00) per incident, or by both such fine and\n\nimprisonment.\n\nD.
