Stat. tit. 15, § 15-796","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in the Gift Certificate and Gift Card Disclosure Act:\n\n1. “Gift card” shall mean a plastic card or other electronic\n\npayment device which is:\n\na. issued in a predenominated amount or in an amount\n\nrequested by the consumer,\n\nb. usable to purchase goods and/or services only at a\n\nsingle merchant or group of merchants that are\n\naffiliated through common corporate ownership or\n\ncontrol, and\n\nc. purchased by a consumer on a prepaid basis in exchange\n\nfor payment;\n\n2. “Gift certificate” shall mean a written promise which is:\n\na. issued in a specified amount, indicated on its face,\n\nand cannot be increased in value,\n\nb. usable to purchase goods and/or services only at a\n\nsingle merchant or a group of merchants that are\n\naffiliated through common corporate ownership or\n\ncontrol, and\n\nc. purchased by a consumer on a prepaid basis in exchange\n\nfor payment;\n\n3. “Issuer” shall mean a person or entity engaged in the\n\nbusiness of offering goods and/or services for sale at retail who\n\nsells gift certificates or gift cards to consumers; and\n\n4. “Prepaid service arrangement” shall mean a method to\n\npurchase specific services in advance and which enables the use of\n\nthe service through a unique access number or authorization code\n\nprovided manually or electronically to the service provider.","path":["OK Code","Title 15"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os15.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"3bae05ef31f85aeb6cef5c0b5338e42f83dff527f52a60a02a04583a5c8e2f2c","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-15-15-795","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-15-15-797"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
