Stat. tit. 15, § 15-955","heading":"Use of non-original equipment manufacturer aftermarket","body":"crash parts - Identification of parts - Disclosure to insured.\n\nNo insurer shall specify the use of non-original equipment\n\nmanufacturer aftermarket crash parts in the repair of an insured's\n\nmotor vehicle, nor shall a repair facility or installer use non-\n\noriginal equipment manufacturer aftermarket crash parts to repair a\n\nvehicle, unless the consumer is advised in writing. In all\n\ninstances where non-original equipment manufacturer aftermarket\n\ncrash parts are intended for use by an insurer:\n\n1. the written estimate shall clearly identify each such part;\n\nand\n\n2. a disclosure document containing substantially the following\n\ninformation in ten-point type or larger type shall appear on or be\n\nattached to the insured's copy of the estimate: \"This estimate has\n\nbeen prepared based on the use of crash parts supplied by a source\n\nother than the manufacturer of your motor vehicle.
