In the Uniform Real Property Electronic Recording\n\nAct:\n\n(1) “Document” means information that is:\n\n(A) inscribed on a tangible medium or that is stored in an\n\nelectronic or other medium and is retrievable in\n\nperceivable form; and\n\n(B) eligible to be recorded in the land records maintained\n\nby the county clerk.\n\n(2) “Electronic” means relating to technology having\n\nelectrical, digital, magnetic, wireless, optical, electromagnetic,\n\nor similar capabilities.\n\n(3) “Electronic document” means a document that is received by\n\nthe county clerk in an electronic form.\n\n(4) “Electronic signature” means an electronic sound, symbol,\n\nor process attached to or logically associated with a document and\n\nexecuted or adopted by a person with the intent to sign the\n\ndocument. “Electronic signature” includes a digital image or\n\nelectronic copy of an original signature affixed to an original or\n\ncertified copy of an original paper document or instrument, provided\n\nthat the person submitting the digital image or electronic copy of\n\nthe document or instrument complies with all other requirements,\n\nrules or regulations concerning electronic recordings under the\n\nUniform Real Property Electronic Recording Act.\n\n(5) “Person” means an individual, corporation, business trust,\n\nestate, trust, partnership, limited liability company, association,\n\njoint venture, public corporation, government, or governmental\n\nsubdivision, agency, or instrumentality, or any other legal or\n\ncommercial entity.\n\n(6) “State” means a state of the United States, the District of\n\nColumbia, Puerto Rico, the United States Virgin Islands, or any\n\nterritory or insular possession subject to the jurisdiction of the\n\nUnited States.","path":["OK Code","Title 16"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os16.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"8877927c5d572e2a3b6daac73cebc4b2ab7c8c1f1127551abb426ccef82a7425","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-16-16-86.1","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-16-16-86.3"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
