Stat. tit. 16, § 16-86.4","heading":"Recording of documents","body":"RECORDING OF DOCUMENTS.\n\n(a) In this section, “paper document” means a document that is\n\nreceived by the county clerk in a form that is not electronic.\n\n(b) A county clerk:\n\n(1) Who implements any of the functions listed in this section\n\nshall do so in compliance with standards established by the Archives\n\nand Records Commission;\n\n(2) May receive, index, store, archive, and transmit electronic\n\ndocuments;\n\n(3) May provide for access to, and for search and retrieval of,\n\ndocuments and information by electronic means;\n\n(4) Who accepts electronic documents for recording shall\n\ncontinue to accept paper documents as authorized by state law and\n\nshall place entries for both types of documents in the same index;\n\n(5) May convert paper documents accepted for recording into\n\nelectronic form;\n\n(6) May convert into electronic form information recorded\n\nbefore the county clerk began to record electronic documents;\n\n(7) May accept electronically any fee that the county clerk is\n\nauthorized to collect; and\n\n(8) May agree with other officials of a state or a political\n\nsubdivision thereof, or of the United States, on procedures or\n\nprocesses to facilitate the electronic satisfaction of prior\n\napprovals and conditions precedent to recording and the electronic\n\npayment of fees.","path":["OK Code","Title 16"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os16.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"e463bada1907d4e998b41ef02c19c3664a1b2df1be3ba5ded60b20bec067b6a0","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-16-16-86.3","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-16-16-86.5"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
