Stat. tit. 17, § 17-139.2","heading":"Operator-assisted services - Operating requirements -","body":"Inclusion of law in directories of subscribers.\n\nA. The Corporation Commission shall, by rule or order,\n\npromulgate and enforce operating requirements for every corporation\n\nor person, other than a telephone corporation authorized by the\n\nCommission to operate within a service area, which, for a charge,\n\nfurnishes operator-assisted services. These requirements shall\n\ninclude, but not be limited to:\n\n1. A requirement that furnishing these operator-assisted\n\nservices for telephone calls within a service area is prohibited\n\nunless the Commission, after instituting a proceeding for the\n\npurpose, finds and determines that to permit these operator-assisted\n\nservices is in the public interest; provided, state, federal, local\n\nand county jails and correctional facilities may utilize operator-\n\nassisted services in conjunction with collect call only telephones,\n\nif intended for exclusive use by prisoners;\n\n2. A requirement that the charges for these operator-assisted\n\nservices be disclosed to users of the services upon request; and\n\n3. The provider of operator services, upon accessing a call,\n\nshall audibly and distinctly identify the company to the user of any\n\ntelephone before any charges are incurred and shall permit the\n\nconsumer to terminate the telephone call at no charge.\n\nB.
