Stat. tit. 17, § 17-140.1","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in this act:\n\n1. \"Person\" means a natural person, corporation, trust,\n\npartnership, incorporated or unincorporated association, or any\n\nother legal entity;\n\n2. \"Pay-per-call service\" means any passive, interactive,\n\npolling, conference or other similar audiotext service that is\n\nprovided for a charge to a caller through an exclusive telephone\n\nnumber prefix or service access code;\n\n3. \"Information provider\" means the person who provides the\n\ninformation, prerecorded message, or interactive program for the\n\ninformation delivery service. The information provider generally\n\nreceives a portion of the revenue from the calls. This service does\n\nnot include the medium for advertising information delivery service;\n\n4. \"Interactive program\" means a pay-per-call program that\n\nallows callers to choose between options or to communicate with\n\nother callers;\n\n5. \"Sponsor\" means an individual, corporation, association,\n\npartnership or other entity that sells a pay-per-call service and on\n\nwhose behalf charges are billed, but shall not include a public\n\nutility regulated by the state or the Federal Communications\n\nCommission or an interexchange carrier which provides transport or\n\nbilling and collection services for a pay-per-call service unless\n\nthe public utility or interexchange carrier actually produces or\n\npromotes the pay-per-call service;\n\n6. \"Subscriber\" means a customer of a local or long distance\n\ntelephone service from which a pay-per-call service is accessed;\n\n7. \"Interexchange carrier\" means an interexchange\n\ntelecommunications company providing service within the state;\n\n8. \"Local exchange company\" means a local exchange telephone\n\ncompany providing service within the state; and\n\n9. \"Adult entertainment\" means any pay-per-call service that\n\ncontains explicit references to conduct of a sexual nature in a\n\nmanner designed to arouse an immoderate or unwholesome interest or\n\ndesire.","path":["OK Code","Title 17"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os17.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"9f0286e06d4e95967b5009d9f8355008034a46b41adbf5ca6389a6a87aee1b2e","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-17-17-14","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-17-17-140.2"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
