Stat. tit. 17, § 17-190.5","heading":"Study of impact of restructuring on tax revenues","body":"To ensure full evaluation and consideration of the impact of\n\nrestructuring of the electric utility industry on municipal and\n\nstate tax revenues the Legislature hereby directs the Joint Electric\n\nUtility Task Force to study and fully assess the impact of\n\nrestructuring on state tax revenues and all other facets of the\n\ncurrent utility tax structure both on the state and all other\n\npolitical subdivisions of the state. The task force shall direct\n\nthe Oklahoma Tax Commission to assist the task force in completion\n\nof this study. The Oklahoma Tax Commission is hereby authorized to\n\nretain such consultants and experts as may be necessary to complete\n\nthis study. The study shall include the feasibility of establishing\n\na uniform consumption tax or other method of taxation which may be\n\napplied in a restructured industry and shall also assess means of\n\nensuring that tax revenues derived by municipalities will not be\n\nadversely impacted as a result of restructuring. A final report\n\nshall be completed by the task force no later than October 1, 1999.\n\nDuring the transition period prior to full consumer choice, the\n\nOklahoma Tax Commission is expressly prohibited from promulgating\n\nany rule or issuing any order relating to methods of taxation to be\n\napplied to a restructured electric industry without prior express\n\nauthorization by the Oklahoma State Legislature or the Joint\n\nElectric Utility Task Force.\n\nNotwithstanding any other provisions contained in this act, a\n\nuniform tax policy which allows all competitors to be taxed on a\n\nfair and equal basis shall be established on or before July 1, 2002.","path":["OK Code","Title 17"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os17.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"19cd428e460bcf5e145911881f074672418127475fd2cb3572372a2384736438","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-17-17-190.4","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-17-17-190.7"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
