Stat. tit. 17, § 17-6.1","heading":"Penalties - Willfully and knowingly injuring or destroying","body":"pipeline transportation system.\n\nA. Any person who has been determined by the Commission to have\n\nviolated any provision of any rule, regulation or order issued\n\npursuant to the provisions of the Commission related to pipeline\n\nsafety shall be liable for a civil penalty of not more than Two\n\nHundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00) for each day that the\n\nviolation continues. The maximum civil penalty shall not exceed Two\n\nMillion Dollars ($2,000,000.00) for any related series of\n\nviolations.\n\nB. The amount of the penalty shall be assessed by the\n\nCommission pursuant to the provisions of subsection A of this\n\nsection, after notice and hearing. In determining the amount of the\n\npenalty, the Commission shall include but not be limited to\n\nconsideration of the nature, circumstances and gravity of the\n\nviolation and, with respect to the person found to have committed\n\nthe violation, the degree of culpability, the effect on ability of\n\nthe person to continue to do business, and any show of good faith in\n\nattempting to achieve compliance with the provisions of the rules\n\nand regulations of the Commission.\n\nAll penalties collected pursuant to the provisions of this\n\nsection shall be deposited into the Pipeline Enforcement Fund.\n\nC. Any person who willfully and knowingly injures or destroys,\n\nor attempts to injure or destroy, any pipeline transportation\n\nsystem, upon conviction, shall be guilty of a Class C2 felony\n\noffense and shall be subject for each offense to a fine of not more\n\nthan Twenty-five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00), or imprisonment for\n\na term not to exceed fifteen (15) years, or both such fine and\n\nimprisonment.","path":["OK Code","Title 17"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os17.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"e966f74943b114854b954f9968819bb23f03f216e5339008012939d4e110c35c","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-17-17-6","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-17-17-601"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
