Stat. tit. 17, § 17-710.3","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in the Electric Usage Data Protection Act:\n\n1. “Aggregate usage data” means any usage data from which all\n\nidentifying information has been removed such that the individual\n\nusage data of a customer cannot without extraordinary effort and\n\nexpertise be associated with the identifying information of that\n\ncustomer;\n\n2. “Commission” means the Corporation Commission;\n\n3. “Customer” means an individual or a business partnership,\n\nlimited liability company, corporation, or other legal entity\n\nreceiving service from an electric utility in the name of the\n\nindividual or the entity. A customer may be residential, commercial\n\nor industrial;\n\n4. “Customer-identifiable usage data” means usage data that is\n\nstored or presented in a format that associates the usage data with\n\nidentifying information of a customer or could be manipulated to\n\nidentify a customer without extraordinary effort;\n\n5. “Customer information” means both identifying information\n\nand customer-identifiable electric usage data. Aggregate usage data\n\nshall not be considered customer information;\n\n6. “Electric utility” means any person, firm, partnership,\n\ncorporation, association or cooperative corporation furnishing\n\nretail electric service to the public in Oklahoma. Electric utility\n\nshall not mean a municipal corporation or beneficial trust of a\n\nmunicipal corporation;\n\n7. “Identifying information” means any information that\n\ndirectly or indirectly identifies or is uniquely associated with a\n\ncustomer or an authorized representative of a customer, including\n\nbut not limited to the name, social security or taxpayer\n\nidentification number, street address, telephone number, electric\n\nutility account number, meter number, or financial account\n\ninformation of the customer or authorized representative of the\n\ncustomer;\n\n8. “Nonstandard usage data” means any usage data that is not\n\nstandard usage data or aggregate data;\n\n9. “Standard usage data” means usage data, as defined in\n\nparagraph 11 of this section, that is used internally and is\n\ngenerally made available by the electric utility to customers in\n\neach of its customer classes on a regular basis, delivered by the\n\nelectric utility in a standard format and with standard frequency,\n\nincluding without limitation the usage data collected by the meter\n\nor obtainable on an as-available basis by the customer;\n\n10. “Self-regulated cooperative” means an Oklahoma rural\n\nelectric cooperative whose members have elected to exempt the\n\ncooperative from certain regulation by the Commission as described\n\nin Section 158.27 of Title 17 of the Oklahoma Statutes; and\n\n11. “Usage data” means information, on an as-available basis,\n\nrelating to both:\n\na. the amount of electricity consumed at a residence or\n\npremises of a customer, and\n\nb. the characteristics of that consumption, as generated,\n\nrecorded, stored or transmitted by the electric\n\nutility infrastructure or supporting technology.","path":["OK Code","Title 17"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os17.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"66f1a3b0f30382c6b6bbef76417d437cbb4154ea28851a813986507f1194b717","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-17-17-710.2","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-17-17-710.4"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
