An electric utility may provide customer information without\n\ncustomer consent to affiliates and third parties who, under\n\ncontract, assist the electric utility in providing regulated\n\nservices or otherwise carrying out its business objectives as\n\noutlined in subsection B of Section 4 of this act, provided however\n\nthat the disclosure is limited to the specific information necessary\n\nfor the third party to carry out its responsibilities to the\n\nelectric utility. Prior to the disclosure of any customer\n\ninformation to a third party under this subsection, a responsible\n\nrepresentative of the third party shall agree in writing that it\n\nwill maintain the security and confidentiality of all customer\n\ninformation to which it has access and limit the use of customer\n\ninformation to the provision of such services to the electric\n\nutility.\n\nB. In addition to providing customer information to affiliates\n\nand third parties as described in subsection A of this section,\n\nelectric utilities may disclose customer information to third\n\nparties in the following circumstances:\n\n1. As required by law;\n\n2. Pursuant to a warrant, subpoena duces tecum, or other court\n\norder;\n\n3. In the event of a business transaction such as a merger,\n\nacquisition, sale of assets, or similar transaction involving the\n\nelectric utility;\n\n4. In the event of an emergency situation; or\n\n5.
