Stat. tit. 18, § 18-437.16","heading":"Initiative by members","body":"Not withstanding any other provision of this act, any\n\nproposition embodied in a petition signed by not less than ten\n\npercent (10%) of the members of a cooperative, together with any\n\ndocument submitted with such petition to give effect to the\n\nproposition, shall be submitted to the members of a cooperative,\n\neither at a special meeting of the members held within forty-five\n\n(45) days after the presentation of such petition or, if the date of\n\nthe next annual meeting of members falls within ninety (90) days\n\nafter such presentation or if the petition so requests, at such\n\nannual meeting. The approval of the board of trustees shall not be\n\nrequired in respect of any proposition or document submitted to the\n\nmembers pursuant to this section and approved by them, but such\n\nproposition or document shall be subject to all other applicable\n\nprovisions of this act.
