Stat. tit. 18, § 18-437.28","heading":"Definitions","body":"In this act, unless the context otherwise requires;\n\n(a) \"Rural area\" means any area not included within the\n\nboundaries of any incorporated or unincorporated city, town or\n\nvillage, having a population in excess of one thousand five hundred\n\n(1,500) persons, and any area included within the boundaries of any\n\nsuch city, town or village as a result of incorporation, annexation,\n\npopulation growth, or otherwise, in which area a cooperative\n\ncommenced or commences the construction or operation of electric\n\nfacilities or the furnishing of electric energy prior to such\n\nincorporation, annexation or population growth.\n\n(b) \"Person\" includes any natural person, firm, association,\n\ncorporation, business trust, partnership, federal agency, state or\n\npolitical subdivision or agency thereof, or any body politic; and\n\n(c) \"Member\" means each incorporator of a cooperative and each\n\nperson admitted to and retaining membership therein, and shall\n\ninclude a husband and wife admitted to joint membership.","path":["OK Code","Title 18"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os18.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"ca9dad01437f963cdb41a2ebc6a8660ec17cd6ef68411353355bc509e4b6f362","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-18-18-437.27","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-18-18-437.29"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
