Stat. tit. 19, § 19-1004","heading":"Commission membership - Tenure - Vacancies - Compensation","body":"- Expenses.\n\nThe city-county park and recreation commission shall consist of\n\neleven (11) members. Five of the members shall be appointed by the\n\nmayor of the city subject to approval of the governing body thereof.\n\nFour of the members shall be appointed by the board of county\n\ncommissioners. The mayor of the city and the chairman of the board\n\nof county commissioners shall be members of the commission and shall\n\nbe entitled to vote on all matters. The initial appointments by the\n\ncity shall designate two members to serve a term of three (3) years,\n\ntwo members to serve a term of two (2) years, and one member to\n\nserve a term of one (1) year. The initial appointments by the\n\ncounty shall designate one member to serve a term of three (3)\n\nyears, two members to serve a term of two (2) years, and one member\n\nto serve a term of one (1) year. Provided, that the terms of such\n\ninitial appointees and the terms of all future appointees of both\n\nthe city and county shall terminate July 31 of that year in which\n\nthey expire, regardless of the calendar date when such appointments\n\nare made. Subsequent appointments of either the city or the county\n\nshall be for three-year terms, except in the case of an appointment\n\nto fill a vacancy in the membership of the commission, which latter\n\nappointment shall be for the balance of the unexpired term of the\n\nmember whose death, resignation, or removal has created the vacancy.\n\nMembers shall not be eligible to succeed themselves after serving\n\ntwo consecutive terms. A member of such commission once qualified\n\ncan thereafter be removed only for misconduct or neglect of duty\n\nduring his term of office after notice and hearing before the\n\ngoverning board that appointed him. All members of the commission\n\nshall serve thereon without compensation.
