At the time and place set for the hearing and consideration\n\nof the petition, it shall be the duty of the board of county\n\ncommissioners to determine:\n\n1. Whether proper notice of the hearing has been given as\n\nrequired by Section 1205 of this title;\n\n2. Whether the residents of the area described in the petition\n\nare without adequate ambulance service to meet their needs;\n\n3. Whether the installation, maintenance and operation of such\n\nambulance service is necessary to serve residents of the district;\n\n4. Whether such ambulance service will be conducive to and will\n\ntend to promote the public health, safety and welfare;\n\n5. The area which should be included in the district; and\n\n6. Whether the new district area shall financially affect any\n\nexisting service in the county adversely.\n\nB. If, upon such consideration, it shall be found that such\n\npetition is in conformity with the requirements of the Ambulance\n\nService Districts Act, and that such a district should be created\n\nthe board of county commissioners shall thereupon immediately\n\ndeclare the area described in the petition or any part thereof to be\n\nincorporated as a district under the name of \"Ambulance Service\n\nDistrict No. __________, __________ County, Oklahoma\", inserting\n\nnumber in order of incorporation and name of county, and thereupon\n\nthe district shall be a body politic and corporate and an agency and\n\nlegally constituted authority of the State of Oklahoma for the\n\npublic purposes set forth in the Ambulance Service Districts Act.\n\nC. The board of county commissioners shall thereupon enter upon\n\nits records full minutes of such hearing, together with its order\n\ncreating the district under the corporate name for the purposes of\n\nthe Ambulance Service Districts Act. Such districts shall not be\n\npolitical corporations or subdivisions of the state within the\n\nmeaning of any constitutional debt limitations, nor shall the\n\ndistricts have any power or authority to levy any taxes whatsoever\n\nor make any assessments on property, real or personal.","path":["OK Code","Title 19"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os19.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"592a13c2cef01f1a44580a79b3eb15e9a291c86707b50580ec280f18e29a83ad","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-1205","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-1207"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
