Two or more districts organized under the Ambulance Service\n\nDistricts Act may be consolidated into a single district by\n\ncomplying with the procedures prescribed in this section.\n\nB. The proposal for consolidation shall be prepared in written\n\nform and shall set forth in detail the reasons for consolidation and\n\nthe advantages which would accrue to each district from the\n\nproposal. The written proposal shall be considered and acted upon\n\nby the board of directors from each district affected at a duly\n\ncalled meeting. If the board of directors of each district approves\n\nthe proposal by resolution, the proposal shall then be submitted to\n\na vote of the residents of each district present at a regular or\n\nspecial meeting. If the consolidation proposal is not approved by\n\nsuch residents of each district affected such districts may not be\n\nconsolidated.\n\nC. If the proposal is approved by such residents of each\n\ndistrict, the boards of directors of the districts desiring to be\n\nconsolidated shall join in filing a petition, addressed to the board\n\nof county commissioners having jurisdiction as provided by this\n\nsection, for a hearing to consolidate such districts into a single\n\ndistrict. The petition shall set forth the necessity for such\n\nconsolidation of two or more districts, and that the consolidation\n\nof the districts shall be conducive to the public health, safety,\n\nand welfare, and the purposes for which the districts were\n\norganized. The consolidation proposal as approved by the residents\n\nand the boards of directors of each district shall be attached to\n\nthe petition as exhibits.\n\nD. If the districts seeking consolidation are situated in one\n\ncounty, the petition shall be filed with the county clerk of the\n\ncounty, and the board of county commissioners of the county shall\n\nhave jurisdiction to hear and determine the petition.\n\nE. If the districts seeking consolidation are situated in\n\ndifferent counties the petition shall be filed with the county clerk\n\nof the county in which the greatest portion of the area of the\n\nproposed consolidated district is located, and the board to\n\ndetermine the question of consolidation shall consist of the board\n\nof county commissioners from each of the counties, and a majority of\n\nthe combined boards shall be necessary to render a decision.\n\nF. Upon receipt of the petition, the county clerk shall\n\nthereupon give notice to the board or boards of county commissioners\n\nof the filing and pendency of the petition, whereupon the county\n\ncommissioners of the county wherein the petition is filed shall\n\nenter its order setting hearing, and giving notice of the hearing,\n\nall in accordance with the provisions of this act for the creation\n\nof districts in the first instance. After the hearing, should the\n\nboard find that the averments of the petition are true and that the\n\ndistricts, or any of them, should be consolidated, the board shall\n\nenter its order directing the consolidation of the districts. The\n\norder shall set forth the corporate name of the consolidated\n\ndistrict under the name of \"Consolidated Ambulance Service District\n\nNo. __________, __________ County(ies), Oklahoma\". The order shall\n\nfurther provide that the consolidated district shall assume and\n\nbecome legally liable for all of the obligations of the districts\n\nconsolidated into the single district.\n\nG. Following the entry of the order, an organizational meeting\n\nof the combined residents of each of the districts shall be held for\n\nthe purpose of electing directors and officers and adopting bylaws.\n\nThis organizational meeting shall be held in accordance with the\n\nprovisions pertaining to the creation and organization of districts.\n\nH. From any order of the board, an appeal may be taken in the\n\nmanner as provided for appeals from decision of the board of county\n\ncommissioners. All legal proceedings already instituted by or\nthe purpose of electing directors and officers and adopting bylaws.\n\nThis organizational meeting shall be held in accordance with the\n\nprovisions pertaining to the creation and organization of districts.\n\nH. From any order of the board, an appeal may be taken in the\n\nmanner as provided for appeals from decision of the board of county\n\ncommissioners.
