Stat. tit. 19, § 19-1232","heading":"Plans and specifications for improvements - Resolution -","body":"Assessment plat - Cost estimates - Protests - Assessment roll.\n\nWhen the board of county commissioners deems it necessary to\n\nconstruct a project, grade, pave, macadamize, chat, gravel, curb,\n\ngutter, drain, or otherwise improve any road, street, alley, avenue,\n\nlane, or any part thereof, which has been established, within the\n\nunincorporated area of such county, it shall, by resolution, require\n\nthe county engineer, or if there is no county engineer, a licensed\n\nengineer whose services have been contracted for, as provided by\n\nlaw, to prepare preliminary plans which shall include a typical\n\nsection of the contemplated work or improvement, type or types of\n\nmaterial, approximate thicknesses and widths, a preliminary estimate\n\nof the cost of such improvement, together with the cost of any\n\nimprovements or draining connections directly chargeable to the\n\nproperty, and an assessment plat showing the area to be assessed.\n\nThe resolution may provide for one or more types of construction,\n\nand the engineer shall separately estimate the cost of each type of\n\nconstruction. Each estimate may be in a lump sum or by unit prices,\n\nwhichever seems most desirable to said engineer, for the complete\n\nimprovement. The estimate shall also include the cost of\n\nadvertising, appraising, engineering, and such other expense or\n\ncontingencies, including attorneys and fiscal agents fees which in\n\nthe judgment of such engineer are necessary or essential to the\n\ncompletion of such work or improvement and the payment of the cost\n\nthereof. Should more than one road, street, avenue, alley, lane,\n\npublic place, or part thereof, be included in such resolution,\n\nseparate estimates as to each shall be made, and any protest or\n\nobjection shall be made and considered separately. For the purpose\n\nof protest in accordance with Section 1234 of this title,\n\ndisconnected parts of the same street shall be treated as separate\n\nstreets.\n\nThe resolution shall also require the county assessor to prepare\n\na preliminary assessment roll based on the cost estimates of the\n\npreliminary plans and the assessor's estimate of the apportionment\n\nof benefits to the respective lots or tracts of land.","path":["OK Code","Title 19"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os19.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"b2d88838826dbba6542c44ec226888522d01bdd1e75bb84bdb07902221ac86cd","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-1231","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-1233"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
