Stat. tit. 19, § 19-1256","heading":"Contractor's bond - Deposit prior to acceptance of","body":"improvement - Amount - Repair of improvements.\n\nUpon acceptance by the board of county commissioners of said\n\nimprovements, and before the final payment of the contract price,\n\nthe board of county commissioners of any county shall require the\n\ncontractor performing such work to make and execute a good and\n\nsufficient surety bond or deposit sufficient securities or\n\nobligations of the United States of America or of the State of\n\nOklahoma or some municipality subdivision thereof to be approved by\n\nsaid board of county commissioners in the sum to be determined by\n\nthe board of county commissioners, in no case to be less than ten\n\npercent (10%) of the contract price, conditioned that the contractor\n\nwill immediately reimburse the county for the maintenance of said\n\nimprovements against any failure due to defective workmanship or\n\nmaterials for a period of five (5) years from the time of its\n\ncompletion and acceptances. Whenever any repairs of said\n\nimprovements due to defective workmanship or materials are deemed\n\nnecessary by the board of county commissioners they shall order the\n\nsame to be made under the supervision of the county engineer or,\n\nwhere there is no county engineer, contract for the services of a\n\nqualified engineer and the costs thereof certified to by said\n\nengineer; and, when approved by the board of county commissioners,\n\nthe contractor and his bondsmen shall be notified of the amount\n\nexpended and shall immediately become liable therefor.","path":["OK Code","Title 19"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os19.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"7959124700aab8bba64935ea9daec3c9d5f69090014cba6b1342d937d51e022d","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-1255","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-1257"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
