Stat. tit. 19, § 19-1607","heading":"Agents of transient merchants","body":"Each person designated by a transient merchant as his agent in\n\nthe application for a license shall be a resident of the county and\n\nshall be an agent of the transient merchant upon whom any process,\n\nnotice, or demand required or permitted by law to be served upon the\n\ntransient merchant may be served. The agent shall agree in writing\n\nto act as such agent and a copy of the agreement to so act shall be\n\nfiled by the applicant with the application for a license.\n\nThe court clerk of each county shall maintain an alphabetical\n\nlist of all transient merchants in the county and the names and\n\naddresses of their agents.\n\nIf any transient merchant doing business or having done business\n\nin any county within the state shall fail to have or maintain an\n\nagent in the county or if such agent cannot be found at his\n\npermanent address, the court clerk shall be an agent of such\n\ntransient merchant for service of all process, notices, or demands.\n\nService on the court clerk shall be made by delivery to and leaving\n\nwith him or any person designated by the clerk to receive such\n\nservice, duplicate copies of the process, notice, or demand. When\n\nany such process, notice, or demand is served on the clerk, he shall\n\nimmediately cause one copy thereof to be forwarded by registered or\n\ncertified mail, return receipt requested, to the permanent address\n\nof the transient merchant.
