Stat. tit. 19, § 19-162","heading":"Deputies - Appointment - Compensation and salaries -","body":"Appropriations.\n\nSubject to the approval of the county excise board, every county\n\nofficer shall appoint such regular and special deputies as are\n\nessential to the performance of the duties of the office in an\n\nefficient manner and shall fix their salaries and compensation. In\n\norder to provide for parity among and between county offices, every\n\ncounty which has established a county budget board pursuant to the\n\nCounty Budget Act, Sections 1401 through 1421 of this title, may,\n\nupon majority vote of the members of the budget board, institute\n\nequivalent employee job descriptions and related salary levels for\n\nall full-time employment positions for uniform application by each\n\ncounty officer. It shall be the responsibility of the board of\n\ncounty commissioners to cause such job descriptions and salary\n\nlevels to be established. The county officer shall annually make\n\nrequest for appropriation for payment of salaries, traveling\n\nexpenses, supplies and equipment and other needs for performing his\n\nofficial duties. The board of county commissioners and the county\n\nexcise board shall annually appropriate amounts that will enable a\n\ncounty officer to hire and keep capable deputies, provide their\n\ninstruction, provide sufficient supplies and equipment for the\n\ncounty officer and his deputies, provide reimbursement for traveling\n\nexpenses for the county officer or deputies whose assignments\n\nrequire expenditures therefor, or provide a monthly travel allowance\n\nfor the county officer in lieu of reimbursed expenditures for travel\n\nwithin this state.","path":["OK Code","Title 19"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os19.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"1a2b395c6fd28c7c3fe652f3cf02030db811edf76525f8f84e918c1347c7de25","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-1611","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-163"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
