Stat. tit. 19, § 19-215.1","heading":"Office created - Method of filling - Number","body":"There is hereby created the office of district attorney in the\n\nState of Oklahoma, which office shall be filled and in the same\n\nmanner as now prevails for district judge. Filing for said office\n\nshall be accomplished by filing with the State Election Board.\n\nThere shall be one district attorney for each of the district court\n\njudicial districts as they are composed and exist on March 1, 1965,\n\nwith the following exceptions. Provided, however, that that part of\n\nJudicial District No. (14) which is Pawnee County shall be\n\nconsolidated with Osage County to form District Attorney's District\n\nNo. (10) and Judicial District No. (25) shall be consolidated with\n\nJudicial District No. (19) for the purposes of this act; and,\n\nprovided further, that District Court Judicial District No. (5) be\n\ndivided into two district attorney districts, one composed of Caddo,\n\nGrady, Stephens and Jefferson Counties to be denominated District\n\nAttorney's District No. (6) and the other composed of Comanche and\n\nCotton Counties, to be denominated District Attorney's District No.\n\n(5); and, that District Court Judicial District No. (4) shall be\n\ncomposed of Canadian, Kingfisher, Blaine, Garfield and Grant\n\nCounties to be denominated District Attorney's District No. (4) and\n\nthe other composed of Alfalfa, Major, Dewey, Woodward and Woods\n\nCounties, to be denominated District Attorney's District No. (26);\n\nthat District Court Judicial District No. (15) be divided into two\n\ndistrict attorneys' districts, one composed of Muskogee County to be\n\ndenominated District Attorney's District No. (15) and the other\n\ncomposed of Wagoner, Cherokee, Sequoyah and Adair Counties to be\n\ndenominated District Attorney's District No. (27); that Creek and\n\nOkfuskee Counties shall be denominated as District Attorney's\n\nDistrict No. (24); Okmulgee and McIntosh Counties shall be\n\ndenominated as District Attorney's District No. (25); and Pittsburg\n\nand Haskell Counties shall be denominated as District Attorney's\n\nDistrict No. (18); and Latimer and LeFlore Counties shall be\n\ndenominated as District Attorney's District No. (16); and District\n\nAttorney's District No. (7) shall consist of Oklahoma County; and,\n\neffective January 6, 2003, Kiowa, Jackson, Tillman, Harmon and Greer\n\nCounties shall be denominated as District Attorney’s District No.\n\n(3); and, effective January 6, 2003, Washita, Ellis, Roger Mills,\n\nCuster and Beckham Counties shall be denominated as District\n\nAttorney’s District No. (2).
