Beginning January 1, 1997, each district attorney shall\n\nreceive a salary of Seventy-one Thousand Six Hundred Sixty-three\n\nDollars ($71,663.00) per year, payable monthly. Beginning January\n\n1, 1999, each district attorney shall receive a salary of Eighty-\n\nfive Thousand Dollars ($85,000.00) per year, payable monthly.\n\nBeginning July 1, 2003, each district attorney shall receive a\n\nsalary equal to ninety-eight percent (98%) of the salary of a\n\ndistrict judge. Any increase in salary in fiscal year 2015 must be\n\npaid from existing available funds.\n\nB. All appointees and employees of district attorneys, except\n\nspecial district attorneys appointed pursuant to subsection C of\n\nSection 215.37M of this title, shall be deemed to be state officers\n\nor employees for all purposes. All special district attorneys\n\nappointed pursuant to subsection C of Section 215.37M of this title\n\nshall be deemed to be state officers only for purposes of The\n\nGovernmental Tort Claims Act and Rule 1.11 of the Rules of\n\nProfessional Conduct for attorneys licensed to practice law in this\n\nstate.\n\nC. Population, for the purposes of Section 215.1 et seq. of\n\nthis title, shall be as determined by the last Federal Decennial\n\nCensus. The salaries of the district attorneys and the salaries of\n\nthe assistant district attorneys and their operating and maintenance\n\nexpenses in each county shall be paid by the state. Provided\n\nhowever:\n\n1. In counties having a population of four hundred thousand\n\n(400,000) or more, the salary of the district attorney and assistant\n\ndistrict attorneys may be supplemented by the county. Such\n\nsupplement for the district attorney shall not exceed twenty-five\n\npercent (25%) of the salary provided for district attorneys by this\n\nsection. Such supplement for the assistant district attorneys shall\n\nnot exceed twenty-five percent (25%) of the salary authorized for\n\nassistant district attorneys in Section 215.34 of this title.\n\n2. The salaries and operating expenses of those assistant\n\ndistrict attorneys who are assigned to child support enforcement\n\nduties shall be paid by funds received as reimbursement from the\n\nDepartment of Human Services under terms of a contract with the\n\noffice of the district attorney as authorized by Section 237.1 of\n\nTitle 56 of the Oklahoma Statutes.\n\nD. The District Attorneys Council, which may hereinafter be\n\nreferred to as the \"Council\", is hereby designated as the state\n\nagency for the administration and disbursement of all salaries and\n\nexpenses of the offices of district attorneys authorized by law.\n\nAll such payrolls and claims against State Treasury funds must be\n\napproved by the Council prior to submission to the Office of\n\nManagement and Enterprise Services for payment. The Council and the\n\nDirector of the Office of Management and Enterprise Services shall\n\npromulgate reasonable rules and regulations covering the preparation\n\nof estimates of needs, budgets and claims for the administration of\n\nthis act, Section 215.1 et seq. of this title, the transmittal of\n\ncounty funds to the State Treasury and the disbursement of all state\n\nand county funds under this act.","path":["OK Code","Title 19"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os19.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"4ba91dbd9064f361a244b2640893a7e0cd081390a9421dcfcc1621a82a9f6a52","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-215.3","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-215.31"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
