Stat. tit. 19, § 19-215.9","heading":"First assistant - Temporary appointments - Vacancies","body":"The district attorney shall designate one of the assistants in\n\nhis district to be his first assistant district attorney and file\n\nsuch designation with the Secretary of State. Should the district\n\nattorney be absent, unable to attend to his duties, or disqualified\n\nto act, the first assistant district attorney may perform the duties\n\nrequired by law to be performed by the district attorney. In the\n\nevent that the district attorney and all of his assistants are for\n\nany reason disqualified to act in a particular matter, the Attorney\n\nGeneral of Oklahoma shall appoint a district attorney or assistant\n\ndistrict attorney from another district to act in such matter.\n\nWhenever the office of district attorney shall be vacated by reason\n\nof resignation or death of the district attorney, the Governor of\n\nthe State of Oklahoma shall appoint a qualified person to serve the\n\nbalance of the unexpired term of said office.","path":["OK Code","Title 19"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os19.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"77deb236194fb78f62c9772390fe82855193c8bf5a8de17ab5852a71fba94957","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-215.8","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-22"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
