Each county shall be divided by the board of county\n\ncommissioners into three (3) compact districts, as equal in\n\npopulation as practicable and numbered respectively one, two and\n\nthree. One commissioner shall be elected from each of the districts\n\nby the voters of the district, as provided for by law.\n\nB. 1. Each county shall be reapportioned by the board of\n\ncounty commissioners on or before October 1 following the final\n\nofficial publication of the Federal Decennial Census to this state\n\nfor the purposes of legislative redistricting. Provided, for\n\npurposes of the 2021 reapportionment of counties, each county shall\n\nbe reapportioned by the board of county commissioners on or before\n\nNovember 30, 2021, following the final official publication of the\n\nFederal Decennial Census to this state for the purposes of\n\nlegislative redistricting. The reapportionment shall be recorded in\n\na resolution adopted by the commissioners. The resolution shall\n\ninclude an effective date for the reapportioned county commissioner\n\ndistricts. The effective date shall be January 1 of the following\n\nyear; provided, however, county election boards shall conduct\n\nregular or special elections for county commissioner held after\n\nApril 5, 2022, in accordance with the reapportioned districts.\n\n2. Beginning with the reapportionment following the 1990\n\nFederal Decennial Census, all boundaries of county commissioner\n\ndistricts shall follow clearly visible, definable and observable\n\nphysical boundaries which are based upon criteria established and\n\nrecognized by the Bureau of the Census of the United States\n\nDepartment of Commerce for purposes of defining census blocks for\n\nits decennial census.\n\n3. If the commissioners fail to reapportion the county as\n\nrequired by this subsection, the commissioners shall be subject to\n\nthe provisions of Sections 91 through 105 of Title 51 of the\n\nOklahoma Statutes and it shall be the duty of the county excise\n\nboard to perform the reapportionment.\n\nC. There is hereby established a depository for county\n\ncommissioner district boundary maps and reapportionment resolutions\n\nwithin the Office of Geographic Information within the Oklahoma\n\nConservation Commission.\n\nR.L. 1910, § 1583.
