Stat. tit. 19, § 19-431","heading":"Right of appeal - Bond - Appeal on demand of freeholders -","body":"Appeal by taxpayer.\n\nFrom all decisions of the board of commissioners, upon matters\n\nproperly before them, there shall be allowed an appeal to the\n\ndistrict court by any persons aggrieved, including the county by its\n\ndistrict attorney, upon filing a bond with sufficient penalty, and\n\none or more sureties to be approved by the county clerk, conditioned\n\nthat the appellant will prosecute his or her appeal without delay,\n\nand pay all cost that he or she may be adjudged to pay in the said\n\ndistrict court; said bond shall be executed to the county, and may\n\nbe sued in the name of the county upon breach of any condition\n\ntherein; provided, that the district attorney, upon the written\n\ndemand of at least fifteen (15) freeholders of the county, shall\n\ntake an appeal from any action of the board of county commissioners\n\nwhen said action relates to the interest or affairs of the county at\n\nlarge or any portion thereof, in the name of the county, when he\n\ndeems it to the interest of the county so to do; and in such case no\n\nbond shall be required or given and upon serving the notice provided\n\nfor in the next section the county clerk shall proceed the same as\n\nif a bond had been filed; provided, further, that if the district\n\nattorney shall fail or refuse to appeal after the written demand of\n\nthe said fifteen (15) freeholders, then any resident taxpayer of the\n\ncounty may be considered a person aggrieved and may appeal upon\n\nfiling a bond with sufficient penalty, as provided in the foregoing\n\nportion of this paragraph.","path":["OK Code","Title 19"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os19.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"c058aeecf34e9915f90d6fedda3bce98509cfb244c4b3c0f4d1217cd347c92f2","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-423","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-432"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
