Stat. tit. 19, § 19-449","heading":"Incapacity as creating vacancy","body":"In addition to the provisions of law now in force, in all\n\ncounties of the State of Oklahoma, where any member of the board of\n\ncounty commissioners shall become incapacitated physically or\n\nmentally and thereby be unable by reason of such disability to\n\nperform the duties of his office for the remainder of the term to\n\nwhich such officer was elected, a vacancy in said office is hereby\n\ndeclared to exist and such vacancy shall be filled by election in\n\nthe manner provided by law for the filling of such vacancies;\n\nprovided, however, that where such vacancy occurs after the election\n\nand prior to the beginning of the term of the county commissioner-\n\nelect, such county commissioner so elected shall be entitled to\n\nqualify and enter upon the discharge of his duties.","path":["OK Code","Title 19"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os19.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"37a59b4e3a6c1817a948798a5d5afb4c4357a238492c1e3314104d50c5ba7e35","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-448","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-450"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
