Stat. tit. 19, § 19-513.2","heading":"Sheriff's duties in operation or management of jail","body":"facility, holding facility or detention center applicable to public\n\ntrust, private owner or management entity.\n\nA. For purposes of any jail facility, holding facility or\n\ndetention center, every reference in statute or rule to any duty or\n\nresponsibility imposed upon the sheriff or any jailer to operate,\n\nmanage or provide any service to any person in the custody of such\n\nfacility or any service related to the management or operation of\n\nsuch facility shall be deemed applicable to and imposed upon the\n\npublic trust or private owner or management entity who by contract\n\nor otherwise legally operates or manages such jail facility, holding\n\nfacility or detention facility.\n\nB. It is unlawful for any public trust, private owner or\n\nmanagement entity contracting to operate or manage any jail\n\nfacility, holding facility or detention center to fail to comply\n\nwith the provisions of any statute or rule relating to duties and\n\nresponsibilities required to operate, manage and provide services to\n\nany person in the custody of such facility.\n\nC. Every governmental entity and other authority who contracts\n\nfor the operation or management of any jail facility, holding\n\nfacility or detention center with a public trust or any private\n\nowner or management entity shall be required to have a provision in\n\nsuch contract requiring compliance with the duties and\n\nresponsibilities imposed by statute or rule to operate or manage a\n\njail facility, holding facility or detention center.\n\nD.
