Stat. tit. 19, § 19-514.4v1","heading":"Notification of outstanding warrants – Contracts –","body":"Payment to court or contractor - Payment in lieu of court\n\nappearance.\n\nA. Notwithstanding any other section of law, the county\n\nsheriffs of any Oklahoma county may contract with a statewide\n\nassociation of county sheriffs to administer contracts with third\n\nparties attempting to locate and notify persons of their outstanding\n\nmisdemeanor or failure-to-pay warrants. County sheriffs contracting\n\nwith a statewide association of county sheriffs for the\n\nadministration of third-party contracts may assign their rights and\n\nduties regarding these contracts to the association.\n\nB. A person may make payment directly to the court, as allowed\n\nby law, or the contractor shall be authorized to accept payment on\n\nmisdemeanor or failure-to-pay warrants by various means including,\n\nbut not limited to, payment by phone, mail, or Internet, and in any\n\npayment form including, but not limited to, personal, cashier’s,\n\ntraveler’s, certified, or guaranteed bank check, postal or\n\ncommercial money order, nationally recognized credit or a debit\n\ncard, or other generally accepted payment form. Any payment\n\ncollected and received by the contractor shall be paid within\n\nfifteen (15) days to the court clerk of the entity that issued the\n\noutstanding misdemeanor or failure-to-pay warrant.\n\nC. As provided for by this section, a person may pay in lieu of\n\nappearance before the court and such payment accepted by the court\n\nshall constitute a finding of guilty as though a plea of nolo\n\ncontendere had been entered by the defendant as allowed by law and\n\nshall function as a written, dated, and signed plea form acceptable\n\nto the court. Such payment shall serve as a written waiver of a\n\njury trial.\n\nD. The court shall release the outstanding misdemeanor or\n\nfailure-to-pay warrant upon receipt of all sums due pursuant to said\n\nwarrant including the misdemeanor or failure-to-pay warrant,\n\nscheduled fine or sum due, all associated fees, costs and statutory\n\npenalty assessments, and the administrative cost pursuant to Section\n\n514.5 of this title.\n\nE. The provisions of any contract entered into by a county\n\nsheriff shall be administered by a statewide association of county\n\nsheriffs in Oklahoma.\n\nF. The provisions of this section and Section 514.5 of this\n\ntitle shall be applicable to:\n\n1. Any misdemeanor or failure-to-pay warrant issued or relating\n\nto any proceeding pursuant to the State and Municipal Traffic Bail\n\nBond Procedure Act;\n\n2. Any misdemeanor or failure-to-pay warrant issued that allows\n\na defendant to resolve the matter by payment in lieu of a personal\n\nappearance in court; and\n\n3.
