Stat. tit. 19, § 19-622","heading":"Bond of county treasurer","body":"The county treasurers shall be covered by the county blanket\n\nbond and it shall run to the state, and action may be brought\n\nthereon in the name of the state, for the use and benefit of the\n\nperson or persons injured by a violation thereof. In the event of\n\ndefalcation by the county treasurer no surety shall be required to\n\npay a greater portion of such loss than the ratio which its bond\n\nbears to the total bond required for the treasurer. Such bond for\n\nthe county treasurer in each county as set by each board of county\n\ncommissioners shall be in the aggregate sum of not less than Fifty\n\nThousand Dollars ($50,000.00).\n\nAny surety or sureties on the bond of such county treasurer may\n\nat any time examine into, investigate and audit the books and\n\nrecords of such county treasurer for the purpose of determining\n\nwhether said treasurer has performed the duties of his office\n\nfaithfully and according to law and may, when such surety or\n\nsureties deem themselves insecure, upon thirty (30) days' written\n\nnotice given to the board of county commissioners, withdraw and\n\ncancel their obligations as surety or sureties on such bond.\n\nR.L. 1910, § 1729.
