Stat. tit. 19, § 19-645","heading":"Cities and towns of less than 5,000 - Designation as","body":"treasurer - Reimbursement of county - Ordinance - Powers and duties.\n\nThe board of trustees, the city council, or the board of city\n\ncommissioners of any incorporated town or city having a population\n\nof less than five thousand (5,000) inhabitants according to the last\n\nFederal Decennial Census, shall have the authority to designate the\n\ncounty treasurer as the official treasurer of such incorporated town\n\nor city having a population of less than five thousand (5,000)\n\ninhabitants according to the last Federal Decennial Census, who\n\nshall serve in such capacity without additional compensation,\n\nprovided, however, that the board of trustees, the city council, or\n\nthe board of city commissioners shall pay into the general revenue\n\nfund of the county, upon a claim filed by the county clerk an amount\n\nwhich the board of trustees, the city council, or the board of city\n\ncommissioners and the board of county commissioners estimate will\n\nreasonably reimburse the county for supplies which the county\n\ntreasurer might need to serve as treasurer of any incorporated town\n\nor city in the state. The designation of the county treasurer as\n\ntreasurer of the city or town shall be by ordinance and the voters\n\nof the city or town shall not elect a treasurer while the ordinance\n\nremains in effect.
