Stat. tit. 19, § 19-734","heading":"Contracts for sites, purchases, repairs, etc. - Bonds -","body":"Elections.\n\nWhenever the board of county commissioners of any county\n\nconsiders it to be to the best interest of the county to acquire\n\nsites, purchase, erect, repair, remodel, equip and furnish a\n\ncourthouse or jail, they shall have power to contract for the\n\nacquisition of sites, purchase, erection, repair, remodeling,\n\nequipping and furnishing of same and to issue bonds in payment\n\ntherefor. Provided, however, that the bonds shall not be issued\n\nuntil the question shall have first been submitted to the people of\n\nthe county and a three-fifths (3/5) majority of the qualified voters\n\nvoting at any general election, or special election called by the\n\nboard of county commissioners for the purpose, shall have declared\n\nby their votes in favor of issuing such bonds.\n\nR.L. 1910, § 1625.
