Stat. tit. 19, § 19-863.13","heading":"Zoning powers - Structures and equipment exempt","body":"For the purposes of promoting the public health, safety, peace,\n\nmorals, comfort, convenience, prosperity, order, quality of life,\n\nand general welfare, and to lessen danger and congestion of public\n\ntransportation and travel, and to secure safety from fire and other\n\ndangers, and to prevent overcrowding of land, and to avoid undue\n\nconcentration of population, and to provide adequate police\n\nprotection, transportation, water, sewerage, schools, parks,\n\nforests, recreational facilities, military and naval facilities, and\n\nother public requirements, and to prevent undue encroachment\n\nthereon, the council, as respects the municipality and the board of\n\nany such county, as respects the unincorporated areas of the county,\n\nare hereby empowered in accordance with the conditions and procedure\n\nspecified in this act, in the areas, respectively, to regulate the\n\nlocation, height, bulk, number of stories and size of buildings and\n\nother structures, the percentage of the lot or area which may be\n\noccupied, the size of yards, courts and other open spaces, the\n\ndensity and distribution of population, and the uses of buildings,\n\nstructures and land for trade, industry, residence, recreation,\n\ncivic and public activities and other purposes.\n\nThe zoning power hereby conferred shall not apply to the\n\nerection, installation, and use of structures and equipment, by\n\npublic service corporations subject to the jurisdiction and\n\nregulation of the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, or other similar\n\nstate or federal regulatory bodies; nor to the erection or use of\n\nthe usual farm buildings for agricultural purposes or the planning\n\nof agricultural crops.","path":["OK Code","Title 19"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os19.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"9d56905cbf5378604c88f0216c458017781235e654057eddd640d7776659c864","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-863.12","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-863.13a"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
