Stat. tit. 19, § 19-863.38","heading":"Electrical inspector - Deputies - Duties - Fees","body":"There is hereby created the office of \"electrical inspector\" of\n\nthe county as defined herein. Such electrical inspector shall be a\n\nperson familiar with all types of electrical installations and\n\nmethods and shall be familiar with the electrical code of any\n\naffected municipality. Such inspector shall be appointed by the\n\nboard of county commissioners of the affected county to serve such\n\nterm as they may prescribe and to be paid such compensation as they\n\nmay in their discretion see fit to set. Said county commissioners\n\nshall hire such deputy electrical inspectors for such terms and at\n\nsuch compensation as they may deem necessary.\n\nIt shall be the duty of said \"electrical inspector\" and such\n\ndeputy electrical inspectors as may be appointed hereunder to\n\ninspect all electrical installations on both new construction,\n\nchanges, revisions or remodeling of existing structures to determine\n\nthat all such installations are in strict conformity with this act\n\nand the electrical code of the city, as defined herein, and to\n\ndetermine that all such installations are performed by competent,\n\nlicensed workmen according to the classifications herein contained.\n\nThe county commissioners of any such county shall determine and fix\n\nthe reasonable fees to be charged therefor and said fees shall be of\n\na sum sufficient to meet the expenses of operation of the office of\n\nthe electrical inspector, herein created. All of such electrical\n\ninspection fees shall be payable to the general fund of any county\n\nas herein defined as to that work and inspection done in the county\n\nand outside the corporate limits of any municipality located in said\n\ncounty.\n\nThe electrical inspector as herein created shall adopt such\n\nrules in regard to the method of inspection and the time thereof as\n\nmay be necessary and proper to carry out the intent of this act, but\n\nall of such rules and regulations shall be in strict accordance with\n\nthe terms of this act and with the electrical code of any affected\n\nmunicipality adopted herein. After notice is received by the office\n\nof the electrical inspector of a desire by any builder, contractor\n\nor home owner for an electrical inspection, the same shall be\n\naccomplished as practicable and within a reasonable time, keeping in\n\nmind the necessity of prompt completion of all new construction and\n\nremodeling of existing constructions.","path":["OK Code","Title 19"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os19.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"2ef400a21ab835c0bf7d243020a3b1a7800ec6a96663454bb159754720b1facf","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-863.37","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-863.39"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
