Stat. tit. 19, § 19-863.40","heading":"Plumbing inspector - Qualifications - Duties","body":"All plumbing materials, equipment and methods of installation\n\nthereof in every county subject to the provisions of this act shall\n\nbe in strict conformity with approved standards for health and\n\nsafety to persons and property. Compliance with the plumbing code\n\nas said code exists at the date of passage of this act of any city\n\nhaving a population of from one hundred and eighty thousand\n\n(180,000) to two hundred and forty thousand (240,000) according to\n\nthe last Federal Decennial Census located in any county as defined\n\nherein shall be deemed to be prima facie evidence of compliance with\n\nthis act.\n\nThe board of county commissioners of any county within the\n\nprovisions of this act are hereby authorized to create, by\n\nresolution duly adopted, the office of plumbing inspector for such\n\ncounty. Such inspector shall be a person who holds a certificate of\n\nmaster plumber under the provisions of the laws of this state,\n\nrelating to cities of two thousand (2,000) or more inhabitants, and\n\nshall have had at least ten (10) years practical experience as a\n\nmaster plumber. Such plumbing inspector is authorized to inspect\n\nall plumbing installations in any county within the provisions of\n\nthis act, to determine that the same are done within the provisions\n\nof this act. However, where any such plumbing installations are\n\nsubject to inspection by the duly qualified, appointed and acting\n\nplumbing inspector of any city or town, having a system of water\n\nsupply or sewerage by reason of contract with the owner or builder\n\nof such plumbing facilities or otherwise, approval by such municipal\n\nplumbing inspector shall be deemed to establish compliance with this\n\nact and inspection by the county plumbing inspector or county\n\nplumbing permits will be unnecessary.\n\nThe board of county commissioners may, on recommendation of the\n\ncounty plumbing inspector, adopt all necessary rules and regulations\n\nto carry out purposes of this act and may prescribe the necessary\n\npermits, notices and inspection procedure and set and determine the\n\nfees therefor. Such fees shall be reasonable and shall be\n\nsufficient to meet the expenses of operation of the office of county\n\nplumbing inspector. The county commissioner shall be authorized to\n\nhire such deputy plumbing inspectors for such terms and at such\n\ncompensation as they may deem reasonable. The county plumbing\n\ninspector shall issue, without examination, certificates of\n\ncompetency to all persons holding such a certificate issued by any\n\ncity or town in the State of Oklahoma of two thousand (2,000) or\n\nmore inhabitants, provided that such certificate has been issued or\n\nrenewed for the year in which application therefor to the county\n\nplumbing inspector is made.","path":["OK Code","Title 19"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os19.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"5c369f684c3c0a7ba659798ec867e961ed9d2d21ae83e2ab3e91bfe1d6c07bed","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-863.4","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-863.41"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
