Stat. tit. 19, § 19-863.45","heading":"County building inspector","body":"There is hereby authorized the creation of the office of county\n\nbuilding inspector for each county adopting a building and/or fire\n\ncode. Said building inspector shall be appointed by the board of\n\ncounty commissioners at such compensation and terms as it may\n\nprescribe and deem necessary; provided, however, for any person to\n\nbe eligible for the appointment to the office of building inspector\n\nhe must have completed a minimum of a high school education and he\n\nmust have a minimum of ten (10) years actual experience in the\n\nbuilding and construction industry and be thoroughly familiar with\n\nbuilding, construction, codes, methods and procedures. The board of\n\ncounty commissioners shall hire deputy building and fire inspectors\n\nat such compensation and terms as it may prescribe and deem\n\nnecessary.\n\nThe building inspector and/or his authorized deputy inspectors\n\nshall enforce the provisions of any building and/or fire code\n\nadopted pursuant hereto, and shall be authorized to inspect all\n\nbuildings for the purpose of discharging the duties imposed herein\n\nor by any building and/or fire code adopted by the board of county\n\ncommissioners.\n\nThe board of county commissioners may adopt all necessary rules\n\nand regulations to carry out the purposes of this act, and may\n\nprescribe the necessary permits, notices and inspection procedures,\n\nand may set and determine the fees therefor. Such fees shall be\n\nreasonable and shall be sufficient to meet the expenses of operation\n\nof the office of county building inspector.\n\nThe board of county commissioners shall be authorized to hire\n\nother employees necessary for the operation of the office of county\n\nbuilding inspector and may expend such sums as it deems reasonable\n\nand necessary for equipment and ancillary services therefor.","path":["OK Code","Title 19"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os19.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"f7c646921a00b49b226a2f9c004d85917e5c845d9ab108c693ecc18c36f353e3","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-863.44f","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-863.46"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
