Stat. tit. 19, § 19-863.47","heading":"Appeals","body":"Any person aggrieved by any order or decision of the building\n\ninspector may appeal from the order or decision of the building\n\ninspector to the board of county commissioners. Such appeal shall\n\nbe in writing and filed with the county clerk within ten (10) days\n\nafter the order or decision is rendered by the building inspector\n\nexcept in cases of emergency. The decision of the building\n\ninspector shall be final in cases of emergency which in his opinion\n\ninvolve imminent danger to human life or health. He shall promptly\n\ncause such building, structure, or portion thereof to be made safe\n\nor removed. He is further authorized to vacate all occupants of the\n\nunsafe building or structure and any adjacent structures, as he may\n\ndeem necessary. Appeals hereunder shall be on forms provided by the\n\nbuilding inspector and shall state the grounds of appeal. On such\n\nappeals the board of county commissioners shall have the power to\n\naffirm, limit, modify or reverse the order or decision of the\n\nbuilding inspector and where there are practical difficulties or\n\nunnecessary hardships resulting from the strict enforcement of\n\nprovisions of the code, the board of county commissioners shall have\n\nthe power, in a specific case, to vary any such provision in harmony\n\nwith its general purpose and intent so that the public health,\n\nsafety, convenience, prosperity and general welfare may be secured\n\nand substantial justice done; provided that any such permitted\n\nvariations shall not be construed as amending the code or as a\n\nwaiver of any of the other provisions hereof.","path":["OK Code","Title 19"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os19.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"93a36f02b51d04c39574957db0dd343dceb9e43ddb7f7ecd9a909d44bc508d74","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-863.46","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-863.48"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
