Stat. tit. 19, § 19-865.62","heading":"County board of adjustment","body":"The board of county commissioners of any such county shall\n\nappoint a county board of adjustment composed of five (5) members,\n\nresidents of such area, for terms of three (3) years, except that\n\nwhen the first appointment is made hereunder, the terms of office of\n\ntwo of said members shall be two (2) years, and the term of office\n\nof one of said members shall be three (3) years. A member of such\n\ncounty board of adjustment, once qualified, can thereafter be\n\nremoved during his term of office only for cause and after a hearing\n\nheld before the board of county commissioners. In the event of the\n\ndeath, resignation or removal of any such member before the\n\nexpiration of his term, a successor shall be appointed by the board\n\nof county commissioners to serve his unexpired term. All members of\n\nthe county board of adjustment shall serve as such without\n\ncompensation.\n\nThe county board of adjustment shall elect its own chairman and\n\nshall adopt rules or procedures consistent with the provisions of\n\nthis act. The chairman, or, in his absence, the acting chairman,\n\nmay administer oaths and compel the attendance of witnesses. Four\n\n(4) members of the county board of adjustment shall constitute a\n\nquorum. All meetings of the county board of adjustment shall be\n\nopen to the public and a public record shall be kept of all\n\nproceedings.\n\nThe county board of adjustment may, with the approval of the\n\nboard of county commissioners, appoint such employees as may be\n\nnecessary and may incur necessary expenses, within the limits of the\n\nappropriations authorized by the board of county commissioners.\n\nFor each petition and for each request for a public hearing, the\n\ncounty board of adjustment shall collect a fee the amount thereof to\n\nbe fixed by the respective boards of county commissioners which such\n\nfees shall be deposited with the county treasurer as required by\n\nlaw, and credited to the general fund of the county, and report\n\nthereof made to the board of county commissioners each month.\n\nPublication notices and transcripts on appeal shall be paid for by\n\nparties requiring or requesting the same.","path":["OK Code","Title 19"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os19.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"fbcf3a8b828d3229670524cfa9701ba76afa9c0a68d4e962c4d79cfda1debee7","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-865.61","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-865.63"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
