Stat. tit. 19, § 19-866.21","heading":"Permits required - Administration of rules and","body":"regulations.\n\nAfter the adoption of such zoning regulations or building line\n\nregulations by the board and/or the council, no building or other\n\nstructures shall be erected, constructed, enlarged or altered, or\n\nrepaired in such manner as to prolong the life of the building, nor\n\nshall the use of any land be changed without a permit issued in\n\naccordance with the rules and regulations adopted by the council or\n\nboard under the terms of this act by the county inspecting officer\n\nas to territory falling within the jurisdiction of the county and of\n\nthe inspector of the municipality as to territory falling within the\n\njurisdiction of the municipality. The county inspecting officer\n\nshall have the duty of administering the rules and regulations under\n\nthis act applicable to territory over which the municipality does\n\nnot have jurisdiction, and shall make such inspections and\n\ninvestigations as may be necessary to the proper enforcement of such\n\nrules and regulations. The inspector of the municipality shall have\n\nthe duty of administering the rules and regulations under this act\n\ninsofar as it applies to the territorial jurisdiction of the\n\nmunicipality and shall make such inspections and investigations as\n\nmay be necessary to the proper enforcement of such rules and\n\nregulations, except that in the matter of construction, surfacing\n\nand maintenance of streets, roads, and highways in the entire\n\nunincorporated area of the county, the board may prescribe rules and\n\nregulations and prescribe standards and the county engineer shall\n\nhave the duty of administering such rules and regulations and when\n\nrequested, shall assist in administering the rules and regulations\n\ngoverning subdivision of land in the unincorporated portions of the\n\ncounty and shall make such inspections and investigations as may be\n\nnecessary to the proper enforcement of such rules and regulations.\n\nThe county inspecting officer and the city inspector may be\n\ndesignated as one and the same person by the board and council\n\nrespectively, and when so designated shall exercise the authority\n\nvested in both officers.","path":["OK Code","Title 19"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os19.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"b31b966a36997d50102ec2b0ee1226b9797e1f37198f9e916c0d159efba0c691","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-866.20","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-866.22"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
