Stat. tit. 19, § 19-866.22","heading":"County Board of Adjustment","body":"The board of county commissioners of any such county shall\n\nappoint a county board of adjustment composed of five (5) members,\n\nresidents of such county, two of whom shall reside outside the\n\ncorporate limits of the municipality, for a term of three (3) years,\n\nexcept that when the first appointment is made hereunder, the term\n\nof office of two of said members shall be one (1) year, the term of\n\ntwo of said members shall be two (2) years, and the term of office\n\nof one of said members shall be three (3) years. A member of such\n\ncounty board of adjustment, once qualified, can thereafter be\n\nremoved during his or her term of office only for cause and after a\n\nhearing held before the board of county commissioners. In the event\n\nof the death, resignation or removal of any such member before the\n\nexpiration of his or her term, a successor shall be appointed by the\n\nboard of county commissioners to serve his or her unexpired term.\n\nAll members of the county board of adjustment shall serve as such\n\nwithout compensation.\n\nThe county board of adjustment shall elect its own chair and\n\nshall adopt rules or procedures consistent with the provisions of\n\nSection 866.1 et seq. of this title. The chair, or, in his or her\n\nabsence, the acting chair, may administer oaths and compel the\n\nattendance of witnesses. Three members of the county board of\n\nadjustment, with both the city and the county being represented,\n\nshall constitute a quorum. All meetings of the county board of\n\nadjustment shall be open to the public and a public record shall be\n\nkept of all proceedings.\n\nThe county board of adjustment may, with the approval of the\n\nboard of county commissioners, appoint such employees as may be\n\nnecessary and may incur necessary expenses, within the limits of the\n\nappropriations authorized by the board of county commissioners.\n\nFor each petition and for each request for a public hearing, the\n\ncounty board of adjustment shall collect a fee the amount thereof to\n\nbe fixed by the respective boards of county commissioners which such\n\nfees shall be deposited with the county treasurer as required by\n\nlaw, and credited to the general fund of the county, and report\n\nthereof made to the board of county commissioners each month.\n\nPublication notices and transcripts on appeal shall be paid for by\n\nparties requiring or requesting the same.","path":["OK Code","Title 19"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os19.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"252a7b2b8aec6c502f9dba3f11320834527ba797421aa0d2de867c5a70390d79","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-866.21","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-866.23"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
