Stat. tit. 19, § 19-869.5","heading":"Authority of commission - Powers of county - Officers -","body":"Meetings - Funds - Personnel - Expenses - Fees\n\nA lake area planning commission shall have the authority to\n\nadopt, amend, extend, add to and implement a comprehensive plan for\n\nthe betterment of its jurisdictional area as a place of residence\n\nand business. It may consider any subject matter tending to the\n\nbetterment of its jurisdictional area and make recommendations as it\n\nmay deem advisable to the appropriate governing body, agency or\n\ndepartment. In execution of its duties, the commission shall\n\nfunction as an advisory, consultative and coordinating agency.\n\nAny county participating in a lake area planning commission is\n\nhereby granted authority to establish zoning regulations, a building\n\ncode, construction codes, an energy code and a housing code for all\n\nareas within the jurisdiction of the commission, and further\n\nprovided that the county is hereby granted authority to adopt,\n\namend, add to or carry out within the jurisdiction of the\n\ncommission, all additional elements of a comprehensive planning\n\nprogram including, but not limited to, plans for major streets and\n\nhighways and other elements of water, rail, air and land\n\ntransportation plans, public utilities and facilities plans, capital\n\nimprovement programs, uniform regulations for the subdivision of\n\nland and for the improvements located thereon, building line\n\nregulations, floodplain management regulations and conservation\n\nplans.\n\nThe commission shall elect its chairman and other officers from\n\nits appointed members.\n\nAll meetings of the commission shall be open to the public. It\n\nshall adopt rules for the transaction of business and keep a\n\ncomplete public record of its functions and activities.\n\nFunds for the operation of a lake area planning commission may\n\nbe appropriated by any county, city or town participating in the\n\nplanning commission. The commission may appoint employees or\n\ncontract for services as it may deem necessary and incur necessary\n\nexpenses within the limits of the appropriations, subject to the\n\napproval of the appropriate governing bodies.\n\nThe lake area planning commission may, subject to approval of\n\nthe appropriate governing bodies, establish a schedule of fees to be\n\npaid for review and inspection functions; provided, that the fees\n\nshall be reasonable and related to the costs of rendering review and\n\ninspection functions and shall not be applied to the sale or\n\ntransfer of real property.","path":["OK Code","Title 19"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os19.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"2127f23b16286b82b9ffd042219816c48013aedd2ddd932467567fa79a0f1acd","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-869.4","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-869.6"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
