Stat. tit. 19, § 19-874","heading":"Board of directors - Appointment and removal - Powers -","body":"Custodian of funds - Reports - Compensation.\n\nThe board of county commissioners shall, after the organization\n\nof the sewer improvement district, appoint a board of directors for\n\nsuch improvement district to be composed of three (3) members, one\n\nof whom shall be designated director, one as clerk and one as\n\nmember, who shall hold office for a term of two (2) years from date\n\nof appointment and until their respective successors shall be\n\nappointed and qualified. No person shall be eligible for\n\nappointment to the board of directors who is not a land owner within\n\nthe district so formed. Vacancies on said board shall be filled in\n\nthe same manner as an original appointment. The board of county\n\ncommissioners shall have jurisdiction and authority to remove any\n\nmember from the board of directors for malfeasance in office or\n\nconduct flagrantly inimical to the best interest of the district,\n\nand removal by a member of the board from the district or inability\n\nof such member to serve shall constitute a vacancy on said board.\n\nSuch board is authorized and empowered to manage and conduct the\n\naffairs of the sewer improvement district, make and execute all\n\nnecessary contracts, employ such agent and employees as may be\n\nnecessary, adopt and establish rules and regulations for sewer\n\nservice both within and without the district, and generally, to\n\nperform all acts necessary to fully carry out the purposes of this\n\nact, including the right and power to contract with municipalities\n\nowning and operating an established sewer system, or with other\n\nsewer improvement districts for the proper handling of sewage. The\n\nclerk of the board shall be the custodian of the funds of the\n\ndistrict, and shall give such bond as may be required by the board.\n\nThe board of directors shall make a report to the board of county\n\ncommissioners on January 1 and July 1 of each year, and the members\n\nthereof shall receive such compensation as shall be fixed by the\n\nboard of county commissioners.","path":["OK Code","Title 19"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os19.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"18a35cd92283aac240fbe02c67af84bbb642479c74747e29deb13dbb4e3360fc","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-873","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-875"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
