Stat. tit. 19, § 19-879","heading":"Bylaws, rules and regulations - Public, district and","body":"private sewer lines.\n\nThe board of directors of such district is hereby authorized and\n\nempowered to make all bylaws, rules and regulations, penal or\n\notherwise, that shall be necessary for the full protection,\n\nmaintenance, management and control of a sewerage system of said\n\ndistrict, including the lines of conveyance, plant and other\n\nproperty used in connection therewith and said board of directors\n\nshall have the power to divide such sewer district system into three\n\n(3) classes to be known as public, district and private sewer lines.\n\nThat the public sewer system shall consist only of the main lines of\n\nconveyance to the sewage treatment or disposal plant or outside\n\nsystem, and the main lines for general collection, including such\n\nother property as may be necessary in connection therewith for the\n\nproper maintenance and use of such sewage system throughout such\n\nimprovement district, and such public sewer lines shall be\n\nestablished along the principal courses for collection at such\n\nplaces to such extent and of such dimensions and under such\n\nregulations, as may be provided for in the bylaws or regulations or\n\norders of said board of directors of said district, and such\n\nprincipal lines of collection may be extensions or branches of lines\n\nalready constructed or entirely new throughout, as may be deemed\n\nexpedient. Such public main lines and sewage disposal or treatment\n\nplant, including the other property necessary to operate such\n\nsystem, shall be paid for by the district as a whole. District\n\nsewer lines shall be established within the limits of all\n\nsubdistricts which subdistricts shall be prescribed by the bylaws,\n\nregulations or orders of said improvement district and connected\n\nwith the public sewer lines or other subdistrict lines. Such\n\nsubdistricts may be again subdivided or may be enlarged or changed\n\nby a bylaw regulations or orders of the improvement district at any\n\ntime previous to the construction of the district sewer line therein\n\nand more than one sewer line may be laid in a subdistrict if deemed\n\nnecessary by the board of directors. The board of directors shall\n\ncause district sewers to be constructed by petition or by resolution\n\nas now provided by law for the construction of district sewers in\n\ncities and towns. Private sewer lines connecting with the public\n\nand district sewer lines may be constructed under such restrictions\n\nand regulations as the board of directors may prescribe by general\n\nbylaws, or regulations or orders; provided, that the expense of\n\nconstructing such lines shall be borne by the individual or\n\nindividuals desiring to construct them and providing further that\n\nsuch improvement district shall be at no expense in the\n\nconstruction, repair, or operation of the same.","path":["OK Code","Title 19"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os19.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"e88109906ca160445ed46722c2507a5675686ee9e9d29f2d15fdc7dfb6ff1d13","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-878","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-88"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
