Stat. tit. 19, § 19-894","heading":"Presentation and allowance of claims - Warrants","body":"No claims shall be paid by the clerk of said district until the\n\nsame shall have been presented and allowed by the board of directors\n\nand only upon warrants signed by the president and countersigned by\n\nthe clerk, and if the district treasurer has not sufficient money on\n\nhand to pay such warrants when presented, he shall endorse thereon\n\n\"not paid for want of funds\" and endorse thereon the date presented,\n\nover his signature, and from the time of such presentation until\n\npaid such warrant shall draw interest at the rate of six percent\n\n(6%) per annum. All claims against the district shall be verified\n\nthe same as is required in the case on claims filed against the\n\ncounties in this state, and the clerk of the district is hereby\n\nauthorized and empowered to administer oaths to the parties\n\nverifying such claims the same as a county clerk or a notary public\n\nmight do. The district clerk shall keep a register in which he\n\nshall enter each warrant presented for payment, showing the date and\n\namount of such warrant, to whom payable, the date of the\n\npresentation for payment, the date of payment, and the amount paid\n\nin redemption thereof, and all warrants shall be paid in the order\n\nof their presentation for payment to the district clerk.
