Stat. tit. 19, § 19-901.30-3","heading":"Agreement on contract - Submission to arbitration -","body":"Selection of arbitrators.\n\nA. It shall be the obligation of the Rural Fire Protection\n\nDistrict, acting through its corporate authorities, to meet at\n\nreasonable times and confer in good faith with the representatives\n\nof the full-time firefighters within ten (10) days after receipt of\n\nwritten notice from said bargaining agent requesting a meeting for\n\ncollective bargaining purposes. The obligation shall include the\n\nduty to cause any collective bargaining agreement resulting from\n\nnegotiations to be reduced to a written agreement, the term of which\n\nshall not exceed one (1) year; provided, any such agreement shall\n\ncontinue from year to year and be automatically extended for one-\n\nyear terms unless written notice of request for bargaining is given\n\nby either the Rural Fire Protection District authorities or the\n\nbargaining agent of the full-time firefighters at least thirty (30)\n\ndays before the anniversary date of such negotiated agreement.\n\nWithin ten (10) days of receipt of such notice by the other party, a\n\nconference shall be scheduled for the purposes of collective\n\nbargaining, and until a new agreement is reached, the currently\n\nexisting written agreement shall not expire and shall continue in\n\nfull force and effect.\n\nB. In the event that the bargaining agent and the corporate\n\nauthorities are unable, within thirty (30) days from and including\n\nthe date of the first meeting, to reach an agreement on a contract,\n\nany and all unresolved issues shall be submitted to arbitration,\n\nupon request of either party.\n\nC. Within five (5) days from the date of the request for\n\narbitration referred to in subsection B of this section, the\n\nbargaining agent and the corporate authorities shall each select and\n\nname one arbitrator and shall immediately thereafter notify each\n\nother in writing of the name and address of the person so selected.\n\nThe two arbitrators so selected and named shall, within five (5)\n\ndays from and after the expiration of the five-day period\n\nhereinabove mentioned, agree upon and select a third arbitrator.\n\nIf, on the expiration of the period allowed therefor, the\n\narbitrators are unable to agree upon the selection of a third\n\narbitrator, the bargaining agent and the corporate authorities shall\n\nrequest the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service to provide a\n\nlist of five arbitrators. Within five (5) days after receipt of the\n\nlist of arbitrators from the Federal Mediation and Conciliation\n\nService, the two arbitrators already selected shall alternately\n\nstrike the name of one arbitrator from the list of five until one\n\nname remains, with the employer making the first strike from the\n\nlist.
