If the corporate authority’s last best offer is not selected\n\nby the arbitration board, that party may submit the offers which the\n\nparties submitted to the arbitration board to the voters of the Fire\n\nProtection District for their selection by requesting a special\n\nelection for that purpose. The request for an election must be\n\nfiled with the Clerk of the Board of Directors for the Fire\n\nProtection District within ten (10) days of the date of the written\n\ndecision of the arbitration board. Written notice of the filing of\n\nthe request shall be given to the bargaining agent. If a request\n\nfor an election is not filed in a timely manner, the board’s\n\nselection decision shall be final, and the last best offer it\n\nselected shall constitute the agreements of the parties.\n\nB. Upon receiving a request for an election pursuant to the\n\nprovision of this section, the District Clerk shall notify the\n\ngoverning body of the Fire Protection District of the request.\n\nWithin ten (10) days of such notification the governing body shall\n\ncall for a special election. The election shall be governed by the\n\nstate laws on Fire Protection District elections and the election\n\nshall be held as nearly as may be in conformity with the state law\n\nprovisions governing bond elections for the Fire Protection\n\nDistrict; provided, no informalities in conducting such election\n\nshall invalidate the same if the election shall have been otherwise\n\nfairly conducted. Only residents of the Fire Protection District\n\nwho are qualified electors in their respective precincts shall be\n\neligible to vote in said election. The ballot shall inform the\n\nvoters that they must choose either the last best offer of the\n\nbargaining agent or the last best offer of the corporate authority.\n\nThe last best offer receiving a majority of the votes shall become\n\nthe agreement of the parties.\n\nC. Concerning issues relating to money, such ballot shall\n\nclearly state the total dollar amount of the offer from the union\n\nand the total dollar amount of the offer from the employer. Such\n\nballot shall also disclose the percentage of increase or decrease\n\nboth offers have over or under the last contract of the two parties.\n\nD.
