Stat. tit. 19, § 19-901.4","heading":"Conduct of election - Returns and canvass of votes -","body":"Order.\n\nSuch elections shall be conducted in accordance with the general\n\nelection laws of the state and the regular election officials shall\n\nbe in charge at the usual polling place of each regular precinct, or\n\npart of a precinct, which shall include lands within the boundaries\n\nof such proposed district. The returns of such election shall be\n\nmade direct to the board of county commissioners who shall meet on\n\nthe second Monday next following such election and proceed to\n\ncanvass the vote cast thereat.\n\nIf, upon such canvass, it appears that at least three-fifths\n\n(3/5) of all the votes cast are \"Fire Protection District - Yes\",\n\nthe board shall, by order declare such territory duly organized as a\n\nfire protection district under the name theretofore designated.\n\nSuch order shall be filed for record in the office of the county\n\nclerk by the board of county commissioners and from that date such\n\ndistrict shall be complete.","path":["OK Code","Title 19"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os19.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"b8ab95c90be16625fbf3077e7e5651bd22c122456cc620945b78783b7e984c28","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-901.37","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-901.40"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
