Stat. tit. 19, § 19-901.44","heading":"Protests","body":"Within thirty (30) days after the filing of any district budget\n\nwith the State Auditor and Inspector, any party being assessed may\n\ncommence action in district court to protest any alleged illegality\n\nof the budget or assessment. The thirty-day protest period begins\n\nupon the date the budget is received in the Office of the State\n\nAuditor and Inspector. After receipt of a protest, the State\n\nAuditor and Inspector shall transmit by certified mail one copy of\n\neach protest to the district, and one copy of each protest to the\n\ncounty treasurer of each county in which the district is located.\n\nAny protest filed shall inure to the benefit of all parties assessed\n\nwithin the district. Upon notification of a protest being filed in\n\ndistrict court, the district will have thirty (30) days to withdraw\n\nthe budget in order to correct any alleged illegalities. If no\n\nprotest is filed within the thirty-day period, the budget, any\n\nappropriations and assessments thereof shall be deemed legal and\n\nfinal until amended by the board as authorized by law.
