Stat. tit. 19, § 19-901.8","heading":"Meetings - Regulation and prevention of fire hazards","body":"The board of directors shall establish a time and place for\n\nregular meetings, and in addition thereto, shall hold such special\n\nmeetings as may be required for the proper transaction of business.\n\nTwo members shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of\n\nbusiness and upon all questions requiring a vote there shall be a\n\nconcurrence of at least two members of such board. All records of\n\nsaid board must be open to the inspection of any elector during\n\nbusiness hours.\n\nThe board shall have the power by general regulation, published\n\nin the manner provided for the publication of ordinances in\n\nincorporated towns, to regulate the construction of and order the\n\nsuspension, discontinuance, removal, repair or cleaning of fire\n\nplaces, chimneys, stoves, stove pipes, flues, ovens, boilers or any\n\nother apparatus used in any building, factory, or business which\n\nmight be dangerous in causing or promoting fires, and prescribe\n\nlimits within which no business dangerous in causing or promoting\n\nfires may be carried on. In similar manner it may order the\n\nclearing of litter or removal of dry brush and rubbish or other\n\ninflammable material endangering the public safety by creating a\n\nfire hazard within the district, and provide for action on the part\n\nof the State Fire Marshal or the sheriff, or by civil action, for\n\nthe prevention of hazards as provided by law. The board shall have\n\nthe power by general regulation, published in the manner provided\n\nfor the publication of ordinances in incorporated towns, to regulate\n\noutdoor burning with rules submitted for approval by the eligible\n\nvoters at the same time as a board election or other regularly\n\nscheduled election with the cost borne by the district, and provide\n\nfor action on the part of the State Fire Marshal or the sheriff, or\n\nby civil action, for the enforcement of such regulations.","path":["OK Code","Title 19"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os19.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"346251ed22191b99518ac3b9f120d3a051649f622b5d27f718d7f5120e8f7074","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-901.7a","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-19-19-901.9"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
