Stat. tit. 19, § 19-905.3","heading":"Regional jail districts - Powers","body":"In addition to the powers granted to the regional jail district\n\nby its member counties under the agreement, the regional jail\n\ndistrict has all the powers necessary or appropriate to carry out\n\nits purposes including, but not limited to, the following:\n\n1. To adopt bylaws and rules for the regulation of its affairs\n\nand the conduct of its business;\n\n2. To maintain an office at such place or places in one or more\n\nof the member counties as the commission may designate;\n\n3. To sue and be sued;\n\n4. To make and execute leases, contracts, releases, compromises\n\nand other instruments necessary or convenient for the exercise of\n\nits powers or to carry out its purposes;\n\n5. To acquire, construct, reconstruct, repair, alter, improve,\n\nand extend jail facilities;\n\n6. To sell, assign, mortgage, grant a security interest in,\n\nexchange, donate and convey any or all of its properties whenever\n\nthe commission finds such action to be in furtherance of the\n\npurposes of the district;\n\n7. To collect rentals, fees and other charges in connection\n\nwith its services or for the use of any facilities; or\n\n8.
